Dear Friends,

We want to thank you for loving students. Our fundraising banquet was an incredible success thanks to your participation and giving. We were able to raise $21,000 the night of our banquet and we praise God that you were willing to give and help us with your resources.

Summer camp was a tremendous success and for those of you who were excited to give knowing it would help kids take that next step we want to share with you that close to 30 students crossed that line of faith with God and began a relationship with him. We also know there were those who finally had courage to face their hurt and pain. In the Fall we're headed toward birthing the mobile skatepark and finishing the middle school room as we were excited to share with you about. Updates, pics, and news will always be shared through our newsletter. We want to encourage you to sign up it's free and we promise it will be something you look forward to in the mail on a quarterly basis. You can subscribe with this link.

Sincerely,

Chad Swanzy and the Uprising Team

What is the Uprising?

The Uprising is the student ministry at Gateway Community Church, Austin, Texas. This ministry reaches out to the middle school and high school aged youth of northwest Austin.

The Youth ministry at Gateway is not as you would expect. We have kids who come that our suffering from addiction, bad choices and are in pain, we may be there only resource. They come to us from broken homes, some on their own and continue to find love and safety in the words and presence of leaders who live to see them connect with Christ.

For more information contact Chad Swanzy.

Last year the Uprising started a high school small group on Tuesday nights called the Gathering. It began with just seven students. By November the house was averaging FORTY-ONE! They eat, worship, then break into student led small groups throughout the house. That group multiplied and there are now two Gatherings with 25 to 30 kids at each home in community with each other on Tuesday nights.
